Beyond All Reason

Beyond All Reason is Saint Louis University's first and only all-female a cappella group. Founded in the fall of 2002 by Monica Reicks and Becky Phillips, two SLU students, Beyond All Reason (known around campus as BAR) started with 10 singers and has certainly come a long way since! Today we have grown to a comfortable size of 12 lovely singers and can be seen around campus performing at a multitude of events. We host two concert extravaganzas a year and sing for various other student organization-sponsored events, such as the four other fabulous SLU a cappella groups' concerts, Relay For Life, SLU basketball games, etc. This past year, BAR also hosted the first annual Aca-Prom, in which members of the SLU community were invited to join in on a night filled with an epic dance party, performances from SLU's five a cappella groups, as well as a Royal Aca-Court. You may also catch us off campus singing for a number of regional events including the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). We sing a little bit of everything, although we often sing many contemporary songs that you would hear on the radio. Like most other collegiate groups, the songs we perform are arranged by current or previous members of BAR.
